MOE stands for My October Empties!

It strikes me that I have never done a post with products I've recently finished! So for that, here's this month's throwouts~

From L - R: Sleek Makeup Luminaire Highlighting Concealer, Cyber Colors Cell Recharge Snail Serum,
Lovemore Acnes All Out Purifying Mask and DHC Salicylic Acne Toner
It's taken me quite awhile to finish up some of these products like the Sleek Highlighting Concealer because I don't use much each time so I guess they've been really value for money in the price vs length of use department!

I STILL can't decide whether I want to repurchase the Sleek Luminaire Highlighting Concealer... Sometimes it works great, concealing the little blemishes like dark eye rings and light pigmentation so I can head out without foundation but sometimes I have to layer like crazy >_< The good thing is that at S$17, it's pretty cheap~ (Original review HERE.)

==================================================================================================

Ah yes~ The snail serum. I really didn't think much about the whole snail mucus fad until I got this little gem from Cyber Colors at Sasa! And 30ml lasted me pretty long!

I'll never get over how quickly this serum healed a badly popped zit (*_*) 90% Snail mucus ftw! I usually apply it when I have an emerging or busted zit so it's just 1 pump each time and that 1 pump brings up enough product to spread thinly over the rest of my face as well if I want to. I already have a 2nd bottle on standby and will definitely keep repurchasing! (Original review HERE)

==================================================================================================

The Lovemore Acnes All Out is a blackhead removal mask set that comes with 3 items, a sebum softener, a purifying mask and an astringent essence. Unfortunately I have abandoned the first and last steps due to laziness personal reasons.

These days, I use The Face Shop Volcanic Clay Mask to open up the pores before using the Lovemore Step 2 purifying mask. Been using it on and off for about 2 years now and I still find the peel off results pretty awesome! (Original review HERE)

==================================================================================================

Lastly, my latest favorite =D The DHC Salicylic Acne Toner. This toner still does a good job of regulating sebum production and keeping those pesky clogs away from my jawline so I am really pleased! If there was one thing to gripe about, it would be that this range is rarely on sale at Watsons! The other DHC products would be on 20% promo and the Acne range would be sitting pretty with their original prices >_< (Original review HERE)

But at the end of the day, the results matter most and it's still a drugstore brand so it isn't that pricey. It's really cheap in Japan though (half the price!) so check it out if you have a trip planned!

So that's it for October~ =)

Oh yeah! In other news, I've received my first sponsored review invite! Pretty excited for my appointment this weekend ^_^ Stay tuned ok?

My Beauty Diary Dark Circles Eye Mask - Problem with puffiness?

My Beauty Diary is easily one of the most popular sheet mask brands in Singapore and the sheer amount of mask varieties available is probably a good testament to the market they have here~ I was loitering around Watsons some time back and just picked up a box of these cute fishy-shaped eye masks cos I wasn't sleeping very well at the time.

About S$11 for a pack of 5 at the usual drugstores~
Anti-puffiness and Anti-fine lines versions available too~

See? I picked the one for OBVIOUS FATIGUE and DARK CIRCLES. (T_T) Sad life has I.

So anyway, the mask has a decent amount of essence in it (3.3ml per pair), not dripping with the stuff. I like the way the fish shape fits nicely though I think I could do without the 'tail' part extending all the way to my hairline but yeah, small issue ^^;;

Removed after about 15min and (I regret that I do not have an after photo to show..>_<) my eyes did really look less tired! Cross my heart! In fact I recently had a friend texting to recommend me this same exact eye mask but HA! I have it already! (─‿‿─)

So if you have a busy busy week ahead, do check this mask out ok! 。◕‿◕。

Quick fix for dry skin or a winter trip! - Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cream

My skin goes through crazy times when the seasons change. In Singapore, it's always humid but combined with winter in Europe, it's a dangerous see-saw for my poor skin >_< Last year, I struggled with peeling skin and clogging for a good part of winter as my usual moisturiser was nowhere near hydrating enough! Although good enough for autumn (and humid Singapore), my Laneige Balancing Emulsion was just no match for a full-on winter climate.

Enter Neogence:
Hydration Special set @ S$45 frm SaSa (U.P: about S$60)
Spotted the Hydration Set at the neighbourhood SaSa and decided it was a good deal for S$45 since it included:
  • Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion 180ml (full size)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Essence 7ml (sample size)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cream 50ml (full size)
  • Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Eye Serum 5ml (sample size)
Basically this range, with all the Hyaluronic Acid, is aimed at hydrating and helping the skin to retain water.

You may have to squint a little ^__^;;
Anyhoo~ my main interest was in the Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cream, usually retails for S$36.90, which as you can see is described as a rich cream that suits dry and cold seasons~

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and am glad to report that it is just the thing for my combination skin in winter! As stated, it is a rich cream but not a heavy one. It's 'soft', absorbs very well and doesn't leave any tackiness.

Using the provided spatula, I just dip straight downwards and use the amount that comes up. Which is approximately a blob the size of your fingernail?
There's a very slight floral fragrance to the cream that is pleasant and doesn't linger. After application, my skin felt immediately softer and smoother...an effect that lasted almost the whole day into my next application at night! LOVE! \(n__n)/
BUT. Too good to be true hey? I've read that some users with dry skin experienced little to no difference using this product in the winter time so if your skin is dry to begin with and you're looking for something to tide your skin over for winter, this might not be it. IF your skin is dry and you're looking for a regular moisturiser (i.e for our usual humid weather), Neogence might be a good option~
In a nutshell, the Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cream:
  • is a rich but light cream that effectively hydrates, softening the skin almost immediately
  • product absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any heaviness or tackiness
  • is lightly fragranced but the light floral smell does not linger
  • skin feels instantly softer, smoother and hydrating, stays that way almost the whole day
  • good for combination (and maybe oily) skin in dry climates but supposedly does almost nothing for users with already dry skin.
  • to use with caution on combination skin in humid climate (I broke out a little when I tried =\ )
What do you use for your skin when the season changes? =)

Kiwi Quicky?

Hi! How's your week so far? ^_^ I'm having a busy week running errands all over town, which translate into breaking into a sweat abit more than I'd like. Hope yours is going nice and slow~~

Today I bring to you a product I've been using on and off for about 6 months. It's from Lovemore, a Taiwanese brand popular for their wide range of masks. I picked up the New Zealand Kiwi Acnes All-Out Set for S$24.90 at Watsons out of curiousity and because once again, my blackheads were calling for attention.

Out Black Spot! Out!

I think the ever-present blackheads on our noses are a neverending bother. You squeeze them out, they come back. You pull them screaming out with pore strips, they come back. So every time there's a product promising to rid me of these little dinky spots, my nose can't help but wiggle a little in anticipation =D

After using the pore strips on and off for a number of years, I noticed the Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out T-Zone Blackhead Remover at Watson's for the fairly low price of S$15.
