Eating in Singapore - Arteastiq Lovin'

I've recently taken to Arteastiq, a boutique tea lounge, after a friend's recommendation. It'd piqued my interest before but I got distracted =P Being a tea person, the fact that the drinks and desserts menu revolves around tea made it totally up my alley~

Situated at the end of Mandarin Gallery's 4th floor~

They also have an art studio sectioned off for customers to oil paint and show off some artistic flair~ You can check out session prices at Arteastiq.com!

I really dig the concept and though I've only been there just to dine & chill out, I'm really keen to give the painting a go sometime!

The place seats about 85, so it isn't huge. My favourite spot is along the windows so I can people-watch and bask in the sun while having my tea & eats ^___^

Ahh~~ the life~~ ヽ(○´∀`)ノ♪

My favourite Mint & Lemongrass Tea~ ( ^ - ^ )

And hehe =P some random photos of our meal... ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

The atmosphere is pretty yet relaxing and the staff are mostly friendly so I usually end up spending quite a few hours there especially if I'm with girlfriends~ Prices are reasonable too, a drink and brunch item will probably set you back about S$30+?

And lastly, my happy self with the pretty wallpaper! (─‿‿─)

I have eyebags the size of my eyes here ლ(>__< ლ) arrrhhhhh~~~

Random end note: I love my new wedges from H&M~ =D

WIWT - Weekend Edition

Hello hello~ How was your long weekend last week? For those not in SE Asia, last Friday was Vesak Day (a Buddhist holiday) so everyone got a long weekend! Gladly, I was in the country and able to spend the time with my family!

It strikes me that it's been quite awhile since my last outfit post so I might as well =) Umm...I'm not terribly fashionable but I like to think I'm stylish enough =P So if you will please indulge me~

Friday!

Rundown: Went to town and hung around people-watching while waiting for the husband to finish up a meeting. Walked around some more, had a bite and caught Iron Man 3 after he was done! (The show was awesome btw. Robert Downey Jr never disappoints, he's like another Johnny Depp almost!)

I took photos at my lift landing because I'm crowd shy and taking photos in public just makes me even more awkward than I already am >_<

My collarbones decided to make an appearance that day =)
Please say Hi to my girls, Ben & Miko! ^^

(Awkkkwarrrrd~~~~ >_<) I had light makeup on that day because I was lazy rushing for time, hope I could carry a fresh-faced look! Also, I'm really digging the dango bun hairstyle ever since I finally figured out how to get it nice, neat and high without tying it 682583 times! Finally I have an updo that's easy and versatile~

Studded ribbon clip from Forever 21~

Accessories for the day

Closeup!
Last but not least, my latest pair of boots from Tokyo~ They were a random find, on sale because they were the last pair and in my size! *hearts*

I like them so much they get 2 shots =P

Breakdown:

Swallowtail pullover - KappAhl
Shorts - Forever 21
Boots - no brand (Random shoe shop in Shibuya)
Bag + Bag charm - Agnes b.
Watch - Thomas Sabo
Bracelets (anti-clockwise from top left) - Far East Plaza, H&M, Pandora

 Saturday!

Rundown: Popped out for a wedding lunch in town then back by evening because the husband had to work T_T so I get to spend the rest of my Saturday lounging around the house procrastinating.

It was my first time to a wedding lunch so I was slightly lost about what to wear. I have very very few clothes that belong in the grey area known as 'smart casual' so I ended up in a really simple cotton swallowtail dress from Gina Tricot :

No face because the humidity completely destroyed my hair =( And I was looking so nice when I just left the house too! *sulks* See!!!

Nice right? Zero zilch sans photoshopping!
I really liked my makeup on Saturday~ Had on the new lashes from Tokyo and they're quite perfect, not too in-your-face ^_^

Products used were:

  • Clearlast Pore Smooth Base UV
  • Kate Powderless Liquid Foundation in shade OC-D
  • Gafixx Skinny Silhouette S302 mascara
  • RiPi れるまつげ false lashes in RP-05 Pure Natural
  • Sleek Makeup Blush by 3 in Lace (used shade Guipure)
  • Edward Bess Ultra Slick Lipstick in Sundown
I always look so much better in my own headshots... (>___<) sigh...

Oh new shoes too!

Weathered leather heels from Aldo; Flower clip from H&M
But the main (though small) point of my outfit was definitely my bag, which I got in Tokyo at 流儀圧搾 (Ryugi Assaku)~ JRunway in Singapore also stocks selected items from this brand!

From 流儀圧搾 sub-brand 雅結 (Miyabi-Musubi) 4,990yen (currently out of stock); Bag charm from agnes b.
I loveeeeee this bag to bits~ The dragon and sakura fabric is totally up my alley! I only wish it was slightly bigger =P

So yeah that's my WIWT weekend edition~ I had fun sharing, hope you had fun reading too! ^__^

Luna Sea Asian Tour 2013 - Singapore

Caution: This is a fangirly post (>_<)

I'm not sure how many of my readers know who Luna Sea is....but I've been a fan of this Japanese rock band for a little over a decade and last Friday was their FIRST EVER concert in Singapore! I've been to their concerts overseas but to have them in my own country is just...special. So happy that they (or their management) has finally decided to take some notice of our little sunny country!

Unfortunately, I was stuck at the phone service centre for a good half of the day so I was running really late and didn't have time to do my face properly (T_T) So no face shots people~ Also, sorry for the substandard photos, which are from my husband's phone as I'd forgotten *facepalm* to bring my camera!

Outfit Breakdown:

Dress & Belt - Gina Tricot
Tri-buckle Boots - Spirit
Polka Dot & Stripe Socks - Daiso
Accessories - CottonOn, Monki, Far East Plaza

More photos after the cut!

All Black Patent Peter Pan

I was dropping by town for a quick errand a couple days ago and thought I'd wear this top I got off the H&M sale racks in Helsinki sometime ago~ Originally priced at about 20 euro, I got it at 50% off! Yay for end-season sales~ I really like the patent leather peter pan collar (abit of schoolgirl flair) and its simple lace cut-out pattern! I don't usually take 'high' collars like this as they make my neck look really short but this was surprisingly alright.

j

Paired with my favourite basic black maxi skirt, which has survived about 5 years wear....and the unfortunate gnawing from the mall escalator >_<;;;

Yes it's sheer...and yes I consider a sports bra decent enough.
Please excuse the lack of proper hair and makeup as it was a rushed wham-bam-thankyouma'am kinda day for me ^_^;; In case you haven't already noticed, I'm quite a lazy dresser on the daily basis and the comfort factor is really important in my wardrobe.

Y'know, I think my mane is losing its mind....it used to be just slightly wavy and I liked that 'cos it looked nice and wild-like but recently it's been developing rogue curls/waves in all sorts of strange places....=\

Outfit Breakdown:

Sheer top with patent leather peter pan collar - H&M Divided
Stretch cotton maxi skirt - local budget fashion store
Necklace - Accessorize
Bangles - Bangkok
Slippers - Robinsons

Have a great weekend everyone! (n_n)

"Dress Code : Formal" >___<;;;

I attended an old classmate's wedding dinner last weekend and didn't feel like wearing a dress like I usually would for such occasions. For some reason, all my dresses weren't hanging on me properly that evening =___=

So after rummaging through my wardrobe, I ended up with this:

Forgive the lousy quality & random posing.....I get awkward in front of a lens..>_<;;;

Finally broke in my boots too!

Lazy Lazy Lazy Day Out...

Dropped by Luxola for the Edward Bess Open House last week...since it was just a quick run downtown I couldn't be bothered to dress properly..yes LAZY I know~ So I decided to go for a pyjama look, not too far from the truth since I got up quite late that day =P

The Husband was kind enough to drive me down and sat quietly through the session while I ooh-ed and ahh-ed over the makeup~

heart-shaped shadow in the car~

This was one of the few times I tied my hair. I have a big face so I ALWAYS want my hair down to hide it but...it's been SO HOT this couple of days I did a side ponytail with my new hair-thingy from H&M =)

Pyramid studs! I LOVE STUDS!!

First OOTD~

I was in town over the weekend to pick out some new comics for the shelf =D Yes, I'm one of those girls who scour the comic bookshelves at the local Kinokuniya. I'm recently rediscovering the horror genre in Japanese comics, especially those by Junji Ito. His illustration style of uncompromising grossness appeals to the horror geek in me~ But I digress...

Every now and then, I like to sketch out different coordinates for the items in my wardrobe...and every now and then, I refer to the sketches for a lineup of what I have. Believe it or not, I have a designated notebook for such sketches.
